Touchstone believes you, the client are the focus. You are an integral part of your own healing journey. We want to empower you to help increase your knowledge regarding your issues and provide an individualized plan for a more positive future. As we work together the focus of our interaction will become maintenance and prevention.

History and Future

As the owner I, Karen Cowan, look forward to providing you with the same care you have come to expect. Touchstone Therapies was originally opened in 1987 by Sandra Giesbrecht. After 26 years in Listowel the business was relocated to Brussels. Karen Cowan and Amanda Ripper took over in 2019, and we moved to our current location in 2020. 2024 a new year, Touchstone Therapies will become Touchstone, a sole proprietorship.

What makes Touchstone Different!

Touchstone treatments are tailored to each client based on their individual needs and expected outcome/goals. Pain and maladies can originate from various sources. Fluid or acid build up ,emotional and environmental stressors, and job ergonomics can all cause muscle ache. Our therapists with your input will explore what is causing your concern or why you reached out for help! We offer a variety of treatment modalities to address what is ailing you. and we combine treatments, or rotate session to give your body everything it needs all in one place.

What to Expect From a Treatment

We have two basic lengths of treatments at Touchstone:

1. Complete – is a treatment on your entire body. The client is never exposed we undrape you in bits and pieces. When the stomach area is worked on in Manual Lymphatic Drainage the breast area is covered. Please note the stomach area is not worked on in Deep Muscle Therapy. Cranio-sacral and Reiki treatments are done fully clothed. Treatment duration is 45 minutes to 75 minutes

2. Partial– is a treatment lasting 20 minutes to 40 minutes covering targeted areas ie. a leg and arm, shoulders or upper and/or lower body.

Initial Treatments: On your first visit to Touchstone, we will do a complete. This allows us to do a complete evaluation of your whole body to determine the best course of treatment modality and therapist. This will also guide you on your path to recovery and health.
